UpStage Artists is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community theater based in Beltsville, MD. Each season, we welcome an average of 200–250 audience members per performance run. With four runs per year and six shows per run, that means hundreds of community members enjoy live theater with us annually.
Our mission is simple: to make theater accessible to everyone in our community. The most important way we achieve this is by keeping ticket prices at just $10, making it possible for families to enjoy an evening of live performance without financial strain.
But affordability is just the beginning. We believe theater should be for everyone—not only as audience members but also as participants. Many of our performers have taken the stage for the very first time with us, and we actively welcome newcomers to join us both on stage and behind the scenes. Each season also includes a dedicated children’s production, helping to nurture a love of the arts in the next generation.
Beyond our productions, UpStage Artists is proud to give back. We participate in local community events, support charitable causes, and offer free performances for residents of a nearby retirement home several times a year.
